In January 2024 the gardening website Orehovod.com suffered a data breach affecting approximately 20000 users. An unauthorized actor gained access to the database containing sensitive user information. The exposed data includes IP addresses, email addresses, and passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt. Additionally, the leak contains personal details such as nicknames, dates of birth, and cities of residence. This incident highlights the risks associated with older hashing algorithms which can be vulnerable to cracking attempts.
