In August 2023 the Russian tour sales platform Otpravkin.ru suffered a data breach resulting in the exposure of user credentials. The incident involved the unauthorized access and subsequent distribution of a database containing plain text passwords and email addresses. This leak is particularly concerning because the passwords were not hashed or encrypted making them immediately usable for credential stuffing attacks against other services. The scale of the breach includes approximately 6000 unique records primarily affecting customers of the travel booking service.
