Owndata.network

On May 28 2023 the Owndata network platform which ironically focuses on data protection suffered a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of approximately 130000 user records. The incident led to the disclosure of sensitive personal and financial identifiers stored within their database. The breach included authentication details and crypto wallet information. Analysis suggests the data was compromised through an unauthorized access point allowing attackers to extract user profiles and cryptographic assets. The use of the weak MD5 hashing algorithm for passwords significantly increases the risk of credential cracking for the affected users.
