In mid 2022 a significant data breach targeted Patriarchia.ru which is the official information portal of the Russian Orthodox Church. The incident was part of a series of cyberattacks against Russian institutional websites during that period. Hackers managed to gain unauthorized access to the internal database potentially exposing registration data and administrative information. The leak was subsequently distributed through various darknet forums and specialized telegram channels dedicated to database dumps.
