A massive data breach occurred targeting the official website of the PDI-P political party in Indonesia. The incident unfolded in two stages. The first stage involved the theft of approximately 3 million detailed records of party members including sensitive information such as full names, passport numbers, and specific personal identifiers. The second stage saw the publication of a significantly larger dataset containing records for 140 million individuals. While the second part contained less sensitive document information, it still exposed names, addresses, age, and gender of a vast portion of the population. The breach represents a major compromise of political and national identity data within the region.
