Peatix

In January 2019 the event ticketing and community platform Peatix experienced a significant security incident involving the unauthorized access of its user database. The breach resulted in the exposure of approximately 4.2 million user records. The compromised data included sensitive information such as account names and email addresses along with hashed and salted passwords. The company identified the breach after discovering unauthorized access to their servers and subsequently notified users to reset their credentials to mitigate further risk of account takeovers.
