In February 2024 a data breach occurred at Podborakb.ru a Russian online service specializing in automotive battery selection. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of a database containing personal details of approximately 650 registered users. The leaked data includes email addresses hashed passwords using the MD5 algorithm full names user nicknames and mobile telephone numbers. Additionally internal user posts or comments were part of the exposed dataset. The breach highlights vulnerabilities in legacy hashing methods like MD5 which are susceptible to cracking.
