In 2019 the Polish health news portal Poradnikzdrowie.pl suffered a data breach involving its user database. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 44 thousand user records. The compromised data included user nicknames and IP addresses as well as passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt. This type of breach often occurs due to vulnerabilities in the website content management system or database security flaws allowing unauthorized access to internal tables.
