An unsecured database allowed public access to a large volume of customer information. The incident was particularly severe because it included API keys and administrative credentials which facilitated secondary breaches for many of the 800 retail companies using their service. The leak exposed personal identification details and contact information of millions of loyalty program participants across various retail chains.
