In January 2018 the Indian real estate portal PropTiger suffered a significant data exposure due to an unsecured server. The incident resulted in the leak of a 346 GB database which was later circulated on various hacker forums around 2020. The breach exposed sensitive details of approximately 2 million users including login credentials and system access logs. The data was stored in an unencrypted or weakly hashed format allowing for potential unauthorized access to user accounts and personal profiles.
