In June 2023 the Russian financial institution Promsotsbank PSKB experienced a significant data breach affecting approximately 90000 users. The incident involved the unauthorized exposure of sensitive customer information including account credentials and personal identifiers. Technical analysis suggests that the breach resulted in the compromise of internal database records which were subsequently leaked online for public access. The data included salted MD5 password hashes which pose a security risk despite the encryption method used.
