PSPISO

In September 2015 the popular gaming forum PSPISO suffered a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of approximately 1.3 million user accounts. The incident occurred after attackers gained unauthorized access to the forums database infrastructure. The leaked information included sensitive user credentials and technical identifiers. Analysis of the data revealed that while passwords were protected with salt they were still considered at risk due to the aging hashing algorithms used at the time. This breach highlighted vulnerabilities in niche gaming community platforms that often lack enterprise grade security measures.
