Puptaguig.net

In early 2024 a significant data breach occurred involving the student portal for the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Taguig branch known as puptaguig.net. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of a database containing sensitive information of thousands of students. Analysis suggests the leak was caused by a vulnerability in the web application or a misconfigured database server which allowed external actors to scrape or download the user records. The exposed data includes personal identifiers and contact details which could be used for identity theft or phishing campaigns targeting the academic community.
