In April 2024 the Indian digital training platform Quest App suffered a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of user information on a popular hacking forum. The incident involved the compromise of approximately 700000 user records. The leaked dataset contains 522000 unique email addresses along with sensitive personal details such as full names phone numbers dates of birth gender and marital status. Security experts noted that passwords were included in the dump stored as MD5 and BCRYPT hashes. The breach highlights vulnerabilities in educational technology platforms and the risks associated with storing extensive personal demographic data alongside authentication credentials.
