In July 2022 the Russian online store for needlework Raruk.ru experienced a data breach following a cyber attack. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 15 thousand customer records. The leaked database includes user emails, nicknames, and passwords hashed with the BCrypt algorithm. Additionally, some full names were identified within the dataset, although many appeared to be randomly generated by the system or users. The breach highlights vulnerabilities in e-commerce platforms targeting hobbyists and niche markets in the RU segment.
