Realcoding

In May 2021 the Russian programming community website RealCoding suffered a data breach that exposed the personal information of approximately 113 thousand users. The incident involved the unauthorized access and extraction of a database containing user identifiers and security credentials. The leaked dataset included full names and email addresses along with account passwords stored using the MD5 hashing algorithm which is considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking. This exposure puts users at risk of credential stuffing attacks and unauthorized account access across other platforms if passwords were reused.
