In June 2020 a significant data security incident occurred involving the Russian Minecraft server ReallyWorld. An unauthorized party managed to access and leak the internal database containing details of approximately 673 thousand players. The exposed information included player nicknames, IP addresses, and passwords stored as AuthMe hashes. This breach allowed for potential account takeovers and tracking of user activity based on network addresses. The data was subsequently shared on various underground forums and public leak sites, highlighting vulnerabilities in private game server management and user data protection protocols.
