RedMart

In October 2020 a major data breach involving the Singaporean online grocery service RedMart was discovered. This incident affected approximately 1.1 million customers who had accounts on the platform. The compromised data originated from a legacy database that had not been updated since July 2019. The breach occurred due to unauthorized access to a database used by the RedMart app and website which resulted in the sensitive information being put up for sale on an online forum. The leaked records included personal details and encrypted security credentials.
