Rendez-Vous

In January 2024 a significant data breach occurred at the Rendez-Vous online shoe and clothing retailer. A threat actor posted sensitive information on a dark web forum including passport scans and resumes from job applicants. The leaked database tables also contained extensive customer information such as order histories and reviews. Technical details indicate that the breach exposed user credentials stored as salted MD5 hashes. This incident highlights a major security failure in protecting both customer PII and sensitive candidate documentation during the recruitment process.
