ReverbNation

In January 2014 the online music service ReverbNation experienced a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of millions of user accounts. The incident occurred when unauthorized parties gained access to the database containing sensitive user information. The leaked data included email addresses and passwords hashed with SHA1 and salt. ReverbNation discovered the intrusion and notified its user base while resetting all affected account passwords to mitigate further risk. The breach primarily affected musicians and industry professionals who used the platform for career development and networking.
