RobinHood

In November 2021 the online trading platform Robinhood experienced a significant security breach. An unauthorized party socially engineered a customer support representative to gain access to internal support systems. This intrusion led to the exposure of personal information belonging to millions of users. The breach primarily compromised email addresses and full names. For a smaller subset of individuals additional details such as dates of birth and zip codes were accessed. Robinhood stated that no social security numbers or financial account details were exposed during this specific event and the vulnerability was contained shortly after discovery.
