On June 9 2023 the threat actor group known as NLB leaked a database belonging to the Rosa Khutor mountain resort. The compromise involved the exposure of over 520,000 records containing sensitive customer information. The data breach includes personal identifiers such as full names, contact details, and dates of birth. Technical details reveal that passwords were stored as MD5 hashes with salt, which are susceptible to cracking. Additionally, residential addresses and professional employment data were part of the exposed dataset, significantly increasing the risk of targeted phishing and identity theft for affected visitors.
