In November 2023 the Russian healthcare digitalization company RTMIS suffered a significant data breach. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 13 million records linked to medical information systems. Analysis of the leaked database revealed about 2.3 million unique entries but due to multiple records per individual the number of unique users is estimated at 120 thousand. The compromised data includes personal identification details such as full names and phone numbers alongside sensitive medical identifiers including insurance policy numbers and SNILS. The breach highlights vulnerabilities in regional medical information platforms managed by the provider.
