In 2023 the Sanmic ecommerce platform suffered a security breach resulting in the compromise of approximately 5000 records. Attackers successfully accessed the backend database containing sensitive customer information. The exposed data includes full names, residential addresses, and detailed transaction histories. Furthermore, the breach revealed specific payment methods used by customers along with descriptions and quantities of goods purchased on the site. This incident represents a significant privacy risk for users as their physical locations and purchasing habits were made public.
