In February 2023 the Committee for Salvation of Pechora a non governmental organization focused on ecological issues in the Pechora River basin experienced a significant data breach. An unauthorized actor gained access to the website database and subsequently leaked the personal information of approximately 230 thousand registered users. The compromised data includes sensitive details such as email addresses full names IP addresses and hashed passwords. This incident poses a security risk to users who may be targeted by phishing campaigns or credential stuffing attacks if they reuse passwords across different platforms.
