Schneider Electric also known as SE.com experienced a cyber security incident involving its Sustainability Business division in early 2024. The breach was attributed to the Cactus ransomware group which targeted the corporate environment and exfiltrated several terabytes of sensitive data. The stolen information included details about industrial control systems and environmental consulting projects. The attackers gained access by exploiting vulnerabilities in the network infrastructure leading to a significant compromise of internal documentation and customer related communication.
