About this leak
In June 2015 the gaming peripheral company Scuf Gaming suffered a data breach that compromised the personal information of approximately 129000 registered users. The incident involved the unauthorized acquisition of a database containing sensitive user details. The breach exposed various data points including email addresses and full names. Additionally usernames and passwords stored as WordPress MD5 hashes were extracted during the attack. This security failure highlighted vulnerabilities in the web application platform used by the company at that time allowing attackers to gain access to the backend user repository.
