In late 2020 a massive data exposure involving Serasa Experian surfaced online affecting millions of Brazilian citizens. The incident involved the leakage of a database containing highly sensitive information including CPF numbers which are Brazilian individual taxpayer identifiers along with full names and demographic details. The data was discovered being traded on underground forums by a threat actor known as JBR.
