In December 2021 the Russian adult dating portal SexClub suffered a significant data exposure. The incident resulted in the public availability of a database containing approximately 320000 user records. The leaked information includes email addresses, unique usernames, numerous IP addresses, and user passwords stored as MD5 hashes. This exposure poses a high risk to users as MD5 is considered a weak hashing algorithm that can be easily cracked, potentially leading to unauthorized account access across multiple platforms if users reused their credentials.
