ShoppingZone.ru

In 2022 the Russian online marketplace and community platform ShoppingZone.ru suffered a data breach resulting in the exposure of approximately 16.6 thousand user records. The incident involved the compromise of sensitive credentials and personal details from their database. The leaked information originated from both the ecommerce section and the active user forum. The security breach included hashed passwords using the MD5 algorithm which is considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking. Other exposed data points included email addresses and nicknames which could be used for targeted phishing attacks or credential stuffing against other services.
