Sirena RZD 2003

In 2003 the Sirena RZD airline reservation system experienced a massive data breach involving approximately 24.8 million records of passenger information. The compromised database contained highly sensitive personal details including full names and passport information for passengers booking flights. Additionally the leak exposed specific travel logistics such as departure and arrival stations for numerous domestic and international routes. This incident represented one of the earliest major data exposures for the Russian transport sector highlighting systemic vulnerabilities in legacy reservation infrastructures during that era.
