In May 2022 the Skolkovo Business School suffered a significant data security incident. The breach involved the unauthorized access and subsequent publication of a database containing personal information of students and staff. The leaked data includes full names, mobile phone numbers, dates of birth, detailed professional information such as place of employment and job titles, and account passwords stored as PBKDF2 hashes. The incident was first highlighted on various cybersecurity telegram channels showcasing over one million records. This compromise exposed sensitive professional and personal details of high profile individuals associated with the institution.
