SKTorrent

In February 2016 the Slovakian torrent tracking community SKTorrent suffered a major security breach. An unauthorized party managed to gain access to the server database resulting in the exposure of approximately 117 thousand user accounts. The breach is particularly severe because user passwords were stored in plain text format without any hashing or encryption. The leaked data includes sensitive credentials that could be used for credential stuffing attacks on other platforms.
