SmartVoting

In July 2021 the Smart Voting platform suffered a significant security incident involving the exposure of its subscriber database. The breach resulted in the public release of email addresses belonging to approximately 190000 users who registered on the site to participate in tactical voting initiatives. Investigations suggested the data was likely exfiltrated by an insider or through unauthorized access to the web server. No sensitive information such as passwords or full names was included in this specific dump although the exposure posed risks for political activists in the region.
