About this leak
In early 2017 the Minecraft server project known as SMineCraft suffered a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of its user database. The incident led to the public disclosure of sensitive information belonging to approximately 200000 registered accounts. The hack involved the extraction of data containing player nicknames, email addresses, and IP logs. Most critically, user passwords were leaked in an insecure MD5 hash format, which is highly susceptible to cracking. The service has since become non-existent following these security issues.
