Smogon

In April 2018 the Smogon University competitive Pokemon community announced a significant data breach. The incident actually occurred in September 2017 when an unauthorized party accessed their XenForo based forum database. The breach exposed sensitive user information including account credentials and personal details. The compromise was attributed to vulnerabilities in the forum software which allowed attackers to extract the user table containing both modern and legacy password hashes.
