SocialEngineered.net

In June 2019 the social engineering forum known as SocialEngineered.net suffered a significant data breach. An unauthorized party managed to gain access to the underlying database of the community. This security incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive credentials for approximately 54000 registered members. The compromised information included internal user identifiers along with personal details such as email addresses and usernames. Furthermore the breach involved the theft of passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salts. This leak posed a high risk to users who reused passwords across different platforms especially within the cybersecurity and social engineering communities.
