Social Fund Russia

In late 2022 the Social Fund of Russia also known as SFR suffered a massive data security incident resulting in the exposure of personal records belonging to approximately 104 million citizens. The breach involved highly sensitive government data including personal identification markers and financial tax identifiers. This incident is considered one of the largest state related leaks in the region exposing internal database structures and comprehensive citizen profiles including employment details and residential information. The hack targeted the infrastructure of the unified social services regulator leading to a significant compromise of national identity data.
