SonicBids

In December 2019 the music industry platform Sonicbids experienced a significant data breach involving approximately 752 thousand user records. The incident was linked to a third party cloud hosting service misconfiguration or compromise. The exposed data included sensitive personal information such as full names and email addresses. Most critically the breach contained user passwords stored as PBKDF2 hashes which are relatively secure but still pose a risk if decrypted. This leak affected musicians and industry professionals using the platform for booking and networking services.
