Spektr

In June 2024 a significant data leak occurred from the Spektr system which is a specialized database used by the Russian Union of Auto Insurers RSA to combat insurance fraud. The incident involved the public exposure of a file containing detailed information about vehicle accidents and policyholders. The leaked data includes personal identifiers of drivers along with technical vehicle specifications and granular details regarding the circumstances and dates of reported traffic accidents. This breach is particularly sensitive as it combines personal data with historical insurance claim information potentially enabling targeted phishing or further fraudulent activities within the insurance sector.
