About this leak

In December 2011 the global intelligence firm Strategic Forecasting Inc widely known as Stratfor was targeted by the hacktivist group Anonymous. The attackers gained access to servers and exfiltrated approximately 200 gigabytes of data. This breach compromised personal details of over 860,000 registered users including email addresses and MD5 hashed passwords without salt. Additionally the hackers stole credit card information from over 30,000 customers and internal email communications which were later published on WikiLeaks. The incident was part of Operation Robin Hood and led to significant financial and reputational damage for the company.
