StripCreator is an online platform for creating and sharing webcomics that suffered a data breach in January 2017. The incident involved the unauthorized access and exposure of the website database. The leaked information primarily consisted of user account details including email addresses and usernames along with MD5 hashed passwords. The vulnerability allowed attackers to extract the entire user table which was later circulated in the darknet and public leak forums. This exposure put thousands of hobbyist comic creators at risk of credential stuffing attacks.
