In February 2020 the Belarusian trading platform SunDays experienced a significant data exposure. The incident involved the leak of personal information belonging to over 20000 customers. The compromised data included full names, user nicknames, contact phone numbers, and email addresses. Additionally, user passwords stored as MD5 hashes were part of the exposed dataset, posing a security risk to individuals reusing these credentials across other platforms. The data appeared in open access on various forums and specialized leak sites, likely due to a vulnerability in the platforms database management system or a direct unauthorized access event.
