SuperPnevmat.ru

In May 2017 the Russian online retail store SuperPnevmat specializing in pneumatic and hunting equipment suffered a significant data breach. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive customer information including personal details and order history. The leaked database contained information on over 600 registered users and approximately 33000 distinct orders. The technical nature of the leak involved the disclosure of MD5 hashed passwords which are considered cryptographically weak by modern standards along with plaintext contact information. This breach posed a direct risk to the privacy of customers purchasing regulated items and hunting gear in the Russian Federation.
