In October 2016 the Minecraft modding platform TechnicPack.net suffered a significant data breach. The incident led to the exposure of personal user information stored in their database. Security researchers discovered that the platform was compromised due to vulnerabilities that allowed unauthorized access to user accounts and backend data. The leaked dataset included sensitive authentication details and personal identifiers of approximately 425000 users. This breach highlighted security concerns within the independent gaming community and the Minecraft modding ecosystem specifically.
