In late 2014 the TibiaPF gaming forum suffered a significant data breach. The incident involved an unauthorized access to the forum database which was running on the vBulletin software platform. Attackers managed to extract sensitive user information including account credentials and personal details. The breach was primarily attributed to vulnerabilities within the legacy forum software which allowed for SQL injection or similar exploitation methods. This leak affected a niche community of players dedicated to the Tibia MMORPG game and the data was subsequently circulated in the darknet community and credential stuffing lists.
