Ticketfly

In May 2018 the event ticketing platform Ticketfly suffered a major cyberattack and data breach after a hacker defaced the website and gained unauthorized access to the database. The incident occurred when the company refused to pay a ransom demanded by an individual who claimed to have discovered a vulnerability. The breach resulted in the exposure of sensitive customer information including millions of unique records. While the total impact was reported to be around 26 million records only a portion was initially seen in public circulation. The service was temporarily taken offline for security restoration.
