In November 2024 the Russian online retailer Tools-Profi specializing in professional construction equipment experienced a data breach. The incident led to the exposure of sensitive user information from their database. The leak contained personal details of approximately 700 registered users including their contact information and security credentials. Specifically the compromised data included full names email addresses and mobile phone numbers. Additionally user passwords were leaked in MD5 hash format with salt which poses a risk of decryption through brute force attacks. The security breach highlights vulnerabilities in the platforms storage of customer credentials and personal identifying information.
