In August 2019 the online cartoon creation platform ToonDoo suffered a significant data breach when its database was compromised and subsequently leaked on a popular hacking forum. The incident involved the exposure of sensitive user information including login credentials and geographic details. Analysis indicates that the breach occurred due to security vulnerabilities within the website infrastructure allowing unauthorized access to the backend storage where millions of user profiles were maintained.
