TorrentLeech

In November 2020 the private BitTorrent community TorrentLeech suffered a data breach affecting over 550 thousand users. The incident involved an unauthorized access to the platform database. The exposed information included usernames and IP addresses. While email addresses were present they were reportedly stored in an encrypted format. Additionally the leak contained passkeys which are unique identifiers used for tracker authentication rather than actual account passwords. The breach highlights risks associated with private sharing communities and the potential for tracking user activity through metadata.
